Practical ways to generate fresh insight

For some years now cre8ive have successfully run a course for agencies and clients on idea generation. Its emphasis is on how to actually change the way you behave back in the office. It recognises that being creative is a tall order without a menu of practical techniques that you have the confidence to draw upon in practice. The course demonstrates that, in order to come up with good ideas, it is far more effective to be relaxed, playful and empathetic than analytical and competitive.

Instead of just thinking about creativity our approach teaches how to actually think creatively. And rather than just introduce practical exercises we provide support for how actually to be creative whilst doing them.

The course provides provocative training that aims to challenge and revive routine processes. We consider conventional vs. creative thinking, how to enhance individual and collective creativity, and practical ways of turning ideas into creative springboards. It also looks at how to make brainstorms and idea generation sessions more structured and rigorous in order to generate more creative output. By sharing new, creative processes that we have developed in our own professional lives, it offers genuinely practical training.

As we tailor the course to our clients, we look at the culture of each organisation and address the specific issues that could be stifling creativity using ‘real’ company problems that need imaginative solutions as ‘live’ stimulus for generating ideas. It can run as a one day workshop or a 2-3 day course.

In addition to the creativity course, we run individual coaching on qualitative research and have trained many a current qualitative researcher in sensitive moderation and interpretation.
